Shanghai New World Daimaru Department Store is located in the east section of Nanjing Road Walkway, one of Shanghai’s busiest shopping streets. The building is a high-end boutique department store and one-stop shopping mall integrating shopping and dining, entertainment, beauty and fitness, and many other services. There are seven floors above ground and five underground. And it was MEBS who provided the elevators and escalators that transport customers between those floors.

We installed 15 elevators and 36 escalators, including see-through observation elevators and 12 of our unique spiral escalators. The 12 spiral escalators, the largest order for a single project to date, serve six floors of the department store and are installed in the central atrium. The highly sophisticated design and wide perspective give passengers the astonishing feeling of gliding through the air in graceful arcs.
