In Myanmar, where Buddhism is predominant, the Shwedagon Pagoda holds immense significance as a revered symbol. This pagoda, situated on a hill in Yangon, is the country's largest and holds relics of Buddha, drawing thousands of visitors each year.
To facilitate movement towards the pagoda, six of our escalators were introduced in 2012. The selection of MEBS was based on its strong track record in installing and maintaining elevators and escalators in global airports and key Myanmar sites. Reliability was a paramount factor, ensuring smooth operation for the temple’s daily visitors. MEBS’s commitment includes top-quality equipment managed by Burmese technicians trained in Japan, supported by a 20-year supply of maintenance components stored locally. Today in Myanmar, Mitsubishi escalators are moving the hopes of a nation.
